Cardiology is the branch of medicine that deals with the cardiovascular system – the heart and blood vessels.

The cardiovascular system is the main cause of health problems in the Western world. That is why it is so important to take preventive measures and monitor the function of our heart while it is still healthy. This way, we can act quickly and effectively when problems arise.

WHICH SERVICES DOES THE CLINIC OFFER?

Patients are offered a clinical cardiology examination, a stress test, and a diagnosis of their condition. If necessary, appropriate treatment is prescribed.

Our clinic offers the following examination:

• ECG – a device for monitoring the heart at rest,
• ultrasound examination of the heart,
• 24-hour blood pressure measurement – measurement of blood pressure during exercise and stress,
• 24-hour ECG recording – Holter method, i.e. monitoring the heart during exercise and stress,
• vascular screening – using Doppler, i.e. ultrasound of the blood vessels (shows the flow of the blood vessels or whether there are deposits on the inner walls of the blood vessels that constrict them),
• cycle ergometry – an exercise test of the heart on a bicycle; this method assesses the aerobic capacity of the cardiovascular system and detects signs of possible narrowing of the heart vessels.

WHEN TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?

Most people are referred to a cardiologist by their GP. Otherwise, it is a good idea to see a cardiologist as a preventive measure, especially if you have high blood pressure, suspected angina pectoris (a characteristic pressing or burning pain in the chest that occurs intermittently and suddenly), problems with your heart rate (too fast, irregular, too slow) or if you have difficulty breathing due to a weakened heart.
