Ultrasound Clinic
The ultrasound examinations include:
- Ultrasound examination of the neck and thyroid gland
- Ultrasound of the abdomen and abdominal organs (examination of the liver, bile ducts, gallbladder, spleen, pancreas, adrenal glands, urinary tract, uterus, ovaries, prostate, gastrointestinal walls, vascular walls and presence of free fluid in the abdominal cavity)
- Ultrasound examination of the scrotum and testicles
When to make an appointment?
Ultrasound examinations are used for prevention, to identify the causes of health problems, and to monitor the success of treatment.
Ultrasound examinations are usually part of specialist examinations and are carried out in our clinic by specialists in a particular field.
Preparation for an ultrasound examination
No special preparation is required for most ultrasound examinations. An exception is the examination of the abdomen and abdominal organs. You should fast 6 to 8 hours before the examination. It is better if you have a full bladder (drink small amounts of water or tea little by little). Eat easily digestible food the day before the examination; if you have problems with constipation, we recommend that you take a laxative the day before the examination. Diabetics should talk to their doctor about changes in diet and drinking.
