TCA peeling (trichloroacetic acid)

TCA chemical peeling is used for skin rejuvenation, hyperpigmentation, age spots, sun-damaged skin, acne, smoothing of small scars and other skin irregularities on the face, neck, hands, neckline and other parts of the body.

TCA peeling is a chemical peeling that causes the top layers of the skin to peel off, which exposes a new layer of undamaged skin, which has a more even pigmentation and smoother texture. This method is used to refresh the skin surface, remove pigmentation and superficial irregularities; however, deeper TCA peels with a stronger peel solution can also remove superficial wrinkles and scars.

After the procedure, the skin is a light white, but its natural color returns in a couple of hours. In the following days, the skin turns brownish, chapped and starts to peel vigorously. The normal condition is generally restored after a week; however, deeper peelings may cause the skin to retain some redness for several weeks.

TCA chemical peeling is a medical peeling that may only be performed by qualified doctors. The procedure is available only in medical centers and should not be mistaken for the mechanical, enzyme or very mild acid peelings performed in beauty salons.
