Assist. Prof. Rado Janša, MD, Ph.D

- Specialist in internal medicine and gastroenterology
He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ljubljana in 1988. He passed the specialist examination in internal medicine in 1995. He obtained his license in the field of internal oncology in 2006, and in the field of gastroenterology in 2012. In the same year, he also received his doctorate in medicine and biophysics.
He is employed at the University Medical Center in Ljubljana at the Clinical Department of Gastroenterology. He is a university assistant professor and lectures in internal medicine at the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Ljubljana.
In 2015, he was chosen by patients as the ‘Best Specialist of the Year’.
He is an active member of numerous medical associations, especially the Slovenian Association of Gastroenterology and Hepatology; he is a member of the Board of Directors of the Assoc. Prof. Dr. Josip Choliewa Foundation, where he also actively participates as a member of the scientific research committee. Since 2007, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the International Research Group ARTBC in Paris.
Since 1995, he has participated in numerous research projects – both international and domestic – and is a regular lecturer at international conferences. He regularly publishes scientific papers in the fields of gastroenterology and oncology, especially in the areas of celiac disease, food allergies, pancreatic diseases and gastrointestinal cancer.
